Well our darling Adam is finally a year and two weeks old!  He is totally adorable.  He walks beautifully now with a lot of falling and bumping his head.  He is quite proud of the fact that he can walk and gives a huge four toothed grin.  Actually tooth number five is on its way now and we had a few wakeful nights as it pushed through the gum!  I am not sure of Adams weight but I think he's around eleven kgs or just under.  He has quite a lot of hair, the fringe I have cut twice already as it was hanging in his eyes and worrying him.  His favourite word apart from mama and dada is 'no!' and it sometimes means no but otherwise means yes.  He chatters away in his own little language and is generally very happy and smiles a lot.  People at supermarkets love Adam cos he smiles at them and says a few words to them.  Life is generally much easier now that Adam can walk and in fact going for a picnic is fun cos he wanders around and explores while we can relax while keeping an eye on him.  Also he tires himself out and then sleeps beautifully at night.  Adam adores both his grannies and his 'meme' which means granny in french actually talks french to him and he seems to be understanding certain french words now.  He knows how to switch the tv on and also mess with the remote - putting the volume right up or right down and changing the channels.  Otherwise I think he needs to start socializing more now as he is very aware of other toddlers and enjoys being around them - touches them and pokes fingers in their eyes and mouth etc.  He also enjoys most children of all ages and they enjoy him.

We look forward to hearing a few more words and being able to eventually communicate with Adam properly, even though its already started slowly and with the pointed finger etc.

Adam turns seven months on Sunday.  He has developed so much its incredible.  He sits on his own now with the occassional topple over.  He watches people and things of interest go by, if he drops something on the ground he looks down to see where it is.  He is extremely active, climbing all over me and the furniture.  He pulled himself into standing position in his cot a few days ago and he creeps backwards if put on the floor on his stomach.  He is starting to put weight on his knees whilst on his hands - preparing for crawling.  (Let the games begin).  He is super cute and has his own personality.  He still refuses to eat vegetables and only eats cereal, fruits and fruity custard but we are gonna have to start trying those veggies and meats again soon.  He sleeps through still but seems to do a bit of nighttime crying during the night which is really just some crying and then he goes back to sleep.  Sometimes he really cries and one of us gets up and just strokes his head and he goes straight  back to sleep.

He objects if you take something away from him that he is hanging onto and has a very tight grip.  He has strong legs and loves being in standing position.  He weighs 9kgs and is tall and slim.  Adam has a beautiful nature and people comment regularly on what a content and happy baby he is.  He smiles at most people unless he is tired and then he will actually cry at a strange face.  He loves being roughed up and tickled and of course tons of hugs and squeezes and kisses.

Adam is just starting to hold his own bottle and I reckon in the next month will be able to hold it and feed himself - yay!  He is still teething but no teeth yet - i believe the first tooth will be at the bottom and will arrive within in the next four weeks.

Adam now sleeps only twice in the day and can stay awake for example from 10.30am to 7.00pm is the circumstances are not favourable for sleeping eg. too many people around all day.

He is an absolute joy and Louis and I are completely taken with him.

Well Adam is just getting cuter by the day!  He is currently sitting on my lap and sucking my arm due to those itchy gums!  He now can pull himself up into sitting position if he is sitting in a chair with a bar in front of him.  He has this chair that has this bar with coloured beads on it and he pulls himself up and holds himself there whilst sucking the beads!  He now reaches out at things like plants, your cup of coffee (scarey) and anything that catches his eye!  He even tries to hold is own bottle to feed himself but those co-ords are not quite perfected yet.  He is sleeping through now completely (yay) and he is a very happy baby - laughs a lot and smiles at most people.  He talks a lot and has become quite vocal.  The closest to mama and dada that he says at this point is "Da" but it is not actually aimed at anybody its just something nice to say.

He is also reaching out and touching our faces which is really the cutest thing ever.

Last but not least, he holds onto your thumb with each of his hands and pulls himself into standing position where he remains for quite a long time!  Sitting is not his thing but standing definitely is.

Adam is now four months old and as cute as can be!  He is no longer a delicate little baby and you can cuddle him and he loves it.  He is teething which is painful for him as he gets a lot of acid reflux.  He sucks his hands as his gums irritate him a lot.  He still wakes up once or twice a night but I have just started him on solids and am hoping he will start sleeping through.  He weighs about 7 and a half kgs now and people who stop to admire him when we are in public, say he looks so healthy!  Might I add most people think he is a girl!  He stopped sleeping in his crib about a week ago and is now full time in the big cot!  (All these milestones).

His neck is so strong now there is almost no headlag at all and he is keen to utilise this new strength and looks around at everything.  He is really cute and I hope to get a photo up soon for you to see him.

Update on Adam

Adam is now three months and will be going for his 14 week immunization soon which we will be so glad to have over and done with - because it feels almost more painful for mom!  He is super cute and I have now unpacked all his 3-6 month clothes which he is wearing comfortably.  He is cooing and gooing beautifully and batting out at faces, cot mobiles and toys that are put in front of him.  Soon he will be able to reach out and grab things without it being just an accident as it is now.  He drools a lot and loves fans!  He is starting to get 'sleep trained' by me simply because rocking 7kgs to sleep for half an hour is just too heavy.  So now he is learning to sleep without being held - quite a hard exercise which really tugs at the heart-strings.

Need to take some new photo's and will then have them scanned in and sent to the blog.

Bye for now xxx

Update on Adam

Adam is about to go for his 10 week immunization except he will actually be 11 weeks old on Wednesday when he receives the jab.  He has started making loud coo-ing and goo-ing sounds, drooling and sucking his hands.  He smiles a lot and I will be scanning in some of those winning smiles in the next week or two.  We are estimating his weight to be about 6 1/2kgs so I will confirm that after Wednesday.

More on Adam in the next week after we have recovered from the immunization after effects.
