Product Management:

Manager of Network Security and Mobile Computing:

·         Promoted to this position to ensure the security of the worldwide network and messaging system including network connected devices like laptops, BlackBerry’s, Palm and Pocket PC PDA’s.

·         Responsible for piloting and rolling out desktop firewalls for network protection.

·         Strong resource for mobile computing which includes testing, evaluating and recommending mobile devices like BlackBerry and other wireless PDA’s.

·         Worked with Domino BES 1.0 to 4.0 and Exchange BES 3.6 and 4.0.

  • Co-managed the worldwide network which included the Network Operating System, directory service, messaging system, LAN/WAN infrastructure, and network management and alerting system.
  • Helped plan an upgrade of the email client (back-end was Intelligent Messaging) to BeyondMail.
  • Created all forms used in the client, including Memo, Reply, Forward, etc.
  • Modified the client as required.
  • Key involvement in a migration from Banyan VINES to Lotus Domino/Notes and Novell NetWare 5.
  • Key involvement with planning and deploying secure 802.11b WiFi throughout the firm.
  • Recommended the BlackBerry solution to the firm and later piloted it and rolled it out

  • Chaired the “Mobile Computing Group” within the firm which is a group of people from all of our offices that meet every month to discuss mobile computing (including BlackBerry, non-BlackBerry PDA’s, WiFi, and general cellular data technologies).  We help set firm policies on how we support this technology and how we can use it to our benefit (like portal development, etc.).
